Derek Allen is Head of Data Centre Operations at Cable & Wireless. His current focus is to reduce energy consumption and costs across the Data Centre estate while improving their operations, stability and reliability.

Derek has been in the IT TelCo industry for 30 years and was previously the Director of Data Strategy at UBS and also held similar positions at CityReach International. Having started working life as an electrical technician he transferred disciplines and gained an upper second degree in Mechanical Engineering - (Environmental Engineering South Bank University, London).

Derek also holds a post graduate diploma in management studies.
