Session Synopsis

The virtualisation of applications, storage and other resources saves money, power and space.

However it does have an impact in other places especially the network infrastructure. It completely changes the way that we should be thinking about the network. New technologies allow us to build a much simpler physical network while at the same time building much more granular policies for each application and user. In this session, we will look at the way that virtualisation and consolidation affect the network and how we can build a network that provides the best support at the lowest cost.

This will include not only the local network but also the interconnection of multiple datacentres.

Session date: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - 12:00pm
